This Privacy Policy explains what information Project Parent Coach collects through this website, how we use it, and who we share it with. Project Parent Coach is operated by Project Parent Coach, LLC, based in New York, USA.

What this website is — and what it is not

Jenny Hwang, PhD, is a clinical psychologist licensed in New York State. Through Project Parent Coach she provides coaching and educational content for the parents of teens and young adults.

Coaching is not psychotherapy. The services offered through this website are coaching services. They are not psychotherapy, mental health treatment, or medical care, and they are not a substitute for therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. Using this website, subscribing to our emails, or contacting us through this site does not create a therapist–patient or clinician–patient relationship, and does not make you a patient of Dr. Hwang’s clinical practice.

If you or your child are in crisis, do not use this website to seek help. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911.

Please do not send sensitive health information

Our contact form is a standard web form. It is not an encrypted or HIPAA-compliant channel, and email is not a secure method of communication. Please do not send clinical details, diagnoses, medical or mental health records, or other sensitive health information about yourself or your child through this website.

Enquiries sent through this website are received as coaching enquiries and are stored as described in this policy. They are not clinical records, and they are not part of any clinical practice record.

Share only what is needed to start a conversation. If you go on to work with us, we will tell you how to communicate securely and provide the relevant policies at that time.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, your email address, the option you select from the drop-down menu, and the content of your message. When you sign up for our email list, we collect your email address and any name you provide.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you visit. This is used to operate the site, keep it secure, and screen out automated spam.

What we do not do. This website does not use website analytics, advertising pixels, retargeting, or behavioural tracking. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries you send us through the contact form.
  • To send you our newsletter and related updates, if you have subscribed.
  • To operate, secure, and maintain the website, including protecting it from spam and abuse.
  • To meet our legal, professional, and regulatory obligations.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This website uses only cookies that are necessary for it to work and stay secure. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

  • Cloudflare sets a cookie to distinguish real visitors from automated bots.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile is used on our contact form to prevent spam submissions.

  • WordPress sets cookies only for site administrators who log in. Ordinary visitors are not logged in and are not given these cookies.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make this website work:

  • GoDaddy — website hosting. Contact form submissions are stored in our website’s database on GoDaddy’s servers.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, website security, and spam prevention on our contact form.
  • MailerLite — email newsletter delivery. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with MailerLite.
  • Google Fonts — our website loads fonts from Google, which means Google receives your IP address when you view a page.
  • TrustedSite — displays a site verification badge.
  • Studio — booking and payment for our offerings take place on Studio’s platform. When you click through to book, you leave this website and your information is handled under Studio’s own privacy policy. We do not collect or process payment card details on this website.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of a person at risk of serious harm, consistent with our professional and legal obligations.

How long we keep your information

Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months and then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

If you become a coaching client, any records relating to that work are governed by the separate agreements and policies we provide to you at that time, and by applicable New York law.

How we protect your information

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information of New York residents, consistent with the New York SHIELD Act. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — which is why we ask you not to send sensitive health information through this website.

Your rights and choices

You may ask us to provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, or delete it. To make a request, contact us at jenny@projectparentcoach.com. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children’s privacy

This website is intended for parents and caregivers, who are adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Please note that when you contact us about your child, you are sharing information about them. We ask that you share only what is necessary, and nothing clinically sensitive, through this website.

Links to other websites

This website links to other websites, including our booking platform and social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page.
